YMPH Professional Audio Team Elevates Cebu with a Two-Day Immersive Demo and Training Event
On October 15-16, 2025, the Bayfront Hotel Cebu — Capitol Site transformed into a hub of technical mastery and professional exchange as Yamaha Music Philippines (YMPH) Professional Audio Team mounted a two-day Audioversity event designed to strengthen the capabilities of sound engineers, system integrators, venue operators, creatives, and audio practitioners across the Visayas region. With almost 100 attendees across both days and more than 40 companies represented, the engagement showcased YMPH’s continued mission to deliver world-class training and hands-on product experience to regional industry communities.

Participants were immersed in a comprehensive demonstration of Yamaha’s flagship systems, beginning with an in-depth exploration of the RIVAGE PM Series. Attendees witnessed firsthand the console’s modern workflow efficiencies, pristine audio processing, and expanded control possibilities that have made it a preferred solution for live touring and high-demand broadcast environments. The DM7 also drew strong interest as Yamaha engineers presented its versatile architecture, dynamic processing, and intuitive interface, showing how the console adapts fluidly to live production, commercial installations, and corporate AV deployments.
Adding to the energy of the program was a comparative speaker shootout featuring Yamaha’s D-Series Loudspeakers alongside various competing brands. This segment gave attendees a rare opportunity to evaluate real-world sonic performance in a controlled environment as they observed clarity, projection capability, tonal consistency, and system behavior under different program materials. The experience affirmed Yamaha’s engineering focus on reliability, acoustic integrity, and intelligent design for both mobile and installed applications.
A central highlight of the Cebu event was the presence of three respected industry professionals from the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Philippines Section: Homer Sajonia, Rico Bicol, and Ronald Basmayor who each led specialized learning sessions tailored for today’s evolving sound environment.
Mr. Homer delivered an insightful discussion on Understanding Audio Systems for Commercial Solutions, guiding participants through the essential principles behind designing, configuring, and optimizing systems for hotels, offices, malls, restaurants, and other commercial spaces. His session emphasized how proper planning and strategic equipment selection can dramatically enhance performance and customer experience.
Mr. Rico engaged the audience with his session on Mixing Beyond the Knobs and Fader, a deep dive into the creative and technical mindset required to produce mixes that convey emotion, clarity, and balance. His approach went deeper than console mechanics, offering a philosophy of mixing rooted in critical listening, contextual decision-making, and understanding the artistic intent behind every performance.
Mr. Ronald rounded out the seminar series with Transition from Analog to Digital Systems, addressing one of the most relevant shifts in today’s audio ecosystem. His talk explored the operational, workflow, and sonic differences between traditional analog setups and modern digital systems, equipping participants with practical guidance for navigating upgrades, maintaining consistency, and maximizing the benefits of digital infrastructure.
Together, their sessions created an environment where knowledge sharing, professional development, and real-world application converged. Attendees engaged in thoughtful discussions, exchanged project experiences, and tapped into decades of accumulated expertise from three of the country’s most respected audio specialists.
